Most certainly one of the most entertaining single handed attacks on any bowling unit, Virender Sehwag became the highest individual scorer in ODIs and only the second man in the history of ODI cricket to score a double ton! Sehwag also surpassed his personal best score of 175, scored earlier in the same year in the World Cup. Sehwag survived two run out chances earlier in the innings and was dropped by skipper Sammy on 172. But the Nawab of Najafgarh made sure that the Windies pay for the lost opportunities as he piled up 219 alone to guide India to massive total of 418-5 and virtually win the match and the series.

This one was probably going to be India's toughest match in the tournament but Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting's century was overshadowed by a match winning half century from the Man of the Match Yuvraj Singh. In a chase of 261, India lost five prime batsmen for just 187 on the board but Yuvraj held his nerves and added an unbeaten 74 runs with Suresh Raina to ensure no further hiccups.
