National eligibility test (net)
On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 28th June 2015 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian universities and colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 89 selected NET Examination Cities spread across the country.
The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF.

UGC NET Syllabus 2015 Details
There will be 3 different papers for UGC NET which are visualized below for the visitors to get all hidden details:
UG NET Syllabus Overview:
Paper I: The first paper is all about general nature, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate.
It is designed to check the test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness.
There are 60 objective type question candidates are needed to be solved only 50 questions that is depends on to the candidate choices.
Paper II: Paper 2 is completely subjective type question paper.
There will be minimum 50 objective type (MCQ) compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I and Paper-II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided along with the Test Booklet.
Paper III: This paper is only descriptive type question paper in which you will have to explain each and every topic as per limit.
It will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate.
Candidates are required to attempt questions in the space provided in the Test Booklet neatly.
