LG has quietly revealed the pricing of its first third-generation L Series device, the L90 Dual. The LG L90 Dual is now listed on the company's site at Rs. 19,000. However, there is no word on the availability of the LG L90 Dual.

Earlier, LG had promised that the L90 would start rolling out to more markets this month.

Notably, the LG L90 Dual was available at an e-commerce website for Rs. 17,499, alongside LG L70 Dual, which is yet to be officially launched in India.

The LG L90 Dual runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, which is the highlight of LG's new budget smartphone. According to LG, the L90 is the first L Series III device to offer Knock Code, which is company's evolution of the KnockON feature that first debuted last year in the LG G2.

TechBuzz:Facebook’s DeepFace Project

Facebook's DeepFace Project

Facebook has reached a major milestone in computer vision and pattern recognition, with 'DeepFace,' an algorithm capable of identifying a face in a crowd with 97.25 percent accuracy, which is pretty much on par with how good the average human is (97.5 percent accurate) at recognizing the faces of other walking, talking meat sacks.

To get past the limitations of ordinary facial matching software, Facebook's researchers have managed to find a way to build 3D models of faces from a photo, which can then be rotated to provide matching of the same face captured at different angles. In the past, facial recognition via computer could be pretty easily foiled if a subject is simply tilting their head in a slightly different direction.

The Facebook DeepFace algorithm needs to be trained on an extensive pool of faces to be able to perform its magic, but it can identify up to 4,000 identities based on a database of over 4 million separate images in its current version. Theoretically, that could be expanded to cover a much larger swatch with further work, and then be applied to Facebook's social network itself, which would be very useful if Facebook wanted to automate the process of identifying all your contacts, and performing analytical magic like determining who you're photographed most frequently with, without the use of manual tagging.

Tech Buzz: Forget USBs - these ‘post-it notes’ transfer files just by sticking them on to a computer

Forget USBs - these 'post-it notes' transfer files just by sticking them on to a computer
Paper-thin drives are stacked together and peeled off as and when needed
Made from graphene, the drives will be sold in sizes up to 32GB
Graphene is a strong, conductive material made from carbon atoms
Price and release date for the Datastickies drives have not been announced

HOW DO DATASTICKIES WORK?
The tiny, paper-thin drives called Datastickies are stacked one on top of another, like real post-it notes, and are then peeled off as and when they're needed.
The user then sticks them to the front of their computer, TV, smartphone or tablet to transfer data via a special adhesive.
Datastickies are made from graphene - a super-strong, conductive material made of a single layer of carbon atoms - and will be sold in a range of different sizes up to 32GB.
The special adhesive used to stick the devices together, and to electronic devices, is conductive.
It is a 'special low-tack, pressure-sensitive adhesive' capable of being reused without leaving marks like a stick note, explained the designers.

IPL 2014 schedule: IPL starts in UAE on April 16, ends in India on June 1

IPL starts in UAE on April 16, ends in India on June 1

Virat Kohli plays a sweep shot during his innings, Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kings XI Punjab, IPL 2013, Bangalore, May 14, 2013

The IPL will start on April 16 in the UAE and is likely to be held in three phases across three countries, ending in India on June 1. A detailed schedule of dates and venues is yet to be finalised but an IPL announcement said that the first 16 matches would be held in the UAE from April 16 followed by a set of matches between May 1 and 12 to be held in either Bangladesh or, the Indian Home Ministry permitting, in India.

The announcement brought to an end a long period of speculation over the final venue. The problem arose because the tournament dates coincided with the Indian elections, scheduled from April 7 to May 12, and brought security and related issues. At the end of the players' auction in Bangalore in February, senior IPL officials had stated that the primary objective was always to hold the maximum number of matches in India. But the Indian Home Ministry made it clear that it would not be possible to provide the required security for the tournament during the elections.

However, the BCCI presented the Indian government with an alternative plan in which the tournament would return to India in early May, by when seven of the nine polling dates would have passed. The board's statement said it had approached the federal Ministry of Home Affairs for permission to play IPL matches in India from May 1-12 in cities where the polling has concluded. "If it is not possible to play in India during this period, IPL matches will be held in Bangladesh," the statement said.
